There are two variants of Tessy: Tessy with Cygwin, the previous version, which supports Windows XP and Vista 32 bit, and the newest version of Tessy with MinGW, which supports also Windows 7 and Vista 64 bit. Both versions are identical regarding their features.

Tessy is qualified for safety-related software development according to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262.

Which Tessy Version Shall I Use?

If you are currently using Tessy with Cygwin successfully, you should stay with the Cygwin variant of Tessy when upgrading to a further developed Tessy version (Please note: the Installer of Tessy MinGW will remove Tessy Cygwin!). You should use the MinGW variant of Tessy if (1) You need to run Tessy under Windows 7; or (2) You need to run Tessy under Windows Vista 64 bit; or (3) You have encountered conflicts with the Cygwin installation of Tessy and your proprietary Cygwin installation; or (4) You have an existing Cygwin installation on the computer on that you want to install Tessy for the first time (e.g. for an evaluation) [please read also here].

The two variants of Tessy will exist in parallel for some time. However, the Cygwin variant is planned to be ceased in the future.

What have we enhanced in the new major version 2.9 since version 2.6?

Tessy comes with new databases which will enhance the performance of Tessy. The new component test feature within Tessy supports testing of several functions (representing the software component) that interact with themselves as well as with underlying called functions (of other components) [Features in v2.9].

The new version 2.9 makes it necessary to update the license keys. License keys for Tessy 2.6 or less cannot be used with this version. If your company has a valid maintenance contract for Tessy, the person who is responsible for Tessy receives an updated license file automatically. You may also request a time limited demo license for Tessy.
