The latest versions 4.3/5.0 of TESSY contains many new functions compared to TESSY 4.2:
The new mutation test feature automatically checks the error detection capability of existing test cases. This unique feature thus improves the verification of test methods and test quality, as required by functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 62304, ISO 26262 und EN 50128), and significantly reduces the manual verification effort.
The “Test data pattern” function is used to check whether the interface is set correctly with regard to the passing direction of OUT variables. All test cases are automatically initialized with data patterns to ensure the independence of the test cases.
Both mutation tests and test data patterns can be optionally activated as additional test execution types within the normal test execution dialog.
The new TEE (Test Environment Editor) is directly and quickly accessible in TESSY with its own TEE perspective. Using its three views with filters and comparison options, the corresponding contents can be edited efficiently. Multiple environments can be compared and individual attribute values can be assigned to all selected environments. The overview of the development environments has been significantly improved by a grouping function for attributes and development environments can be configured in one step via UUID.
The coverage selection within TESSY 4.3/5.0 is based on the applicable standard for your development project (e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 62304, ISO 26262 and EN 50128). The recommended coverage measurements according to each standard are enabled by default.
